As a curtain raiser to the IDPS 2022, FDPPI is conducting a short webinar for celebrating the Digital Society Day of India on October 17th 2022.

Recognizing the importance of Information Technology Act 2000 (ITA 2000) and the day it was first notified in the year 2000, FDPPI has invited some stalwarts who have watched the ITA 2000 as a law since its inception to share some of their thoughts on how ITA 2000 developed into IAT 2008 and to the current day and further discuss how it could also be the anchor for the new amended Digital India Act.

Pavan is also heading the Artificial Intelligence Law Hub and Blockchain Law Epicentre.He is the Founder-cum-Honorary Chancellor of Cyberlaw University. Rakesh Maheshwari

Has held various positions in MeitY in the area of Cyber Laws and Cyber security including as Group Co-ordinator for Cyber Law and Cyber Security, Designated Officer 69A .

Cybersecurity thought leader, Commander Saini is a veteran naval officer.

He was the first National Information Security Coordinator at National Security Council Secretariat (PMO), the chair later formalised as National Cyber Security Coordinator.  He was member of
member of working group on amendments to Information Technology Act – 2003-05.

He has moved a PIL in Supreme Court to correct some parts of IT Act same is expected to come up in Nov.

On retirement from the Navy, he joined Microsoft as Chief Security Advisor.  He was member-secretary of Task Force for “Credible Cyber Deterrence in Armed Forces of India”.

He holds 3 Masters Degrees (MSc, MBA & MCA) and is pursuing LLB.

Additionally he holds a plethora of professional certifications including CISSP.

Dr. Nagarathna Annappa, is a Gold Medalist in BA.LL.B. (1999). Having completed her Ph. D., in Medical Negligence Laws, she is currently pursuing her Post Doctorate study on “Cyber Crime Investigation and Prosecution” from National Law School of India University [NLSIU], Bengaluru.

She is teaching law since 2001 and currently working as an Associate Professor of Law at NLSIU.

She is also heading as the Chief Coordinator, Advanced Centre of Research, Development and Training in Cyber Laws & Forensics, NLSIU.

Her areas of work and interest includes Criminal Laws, Cyber Laws and Medical Laws.

She is also the Director & Honorary Consultant, Centre for Knowledge Sovereignty, New Delhi

Advocate (Doctor) Mahendra B. Limaye, a Techno-Legal expert  in Cyber Security and Cyber Legal Education.

He is Diploma Holder in Mechanical engineering with Masters in Law and Post graduate diploma holder in Cyber law and Information Technology and awarded Ph.D. in Cyber laws from RTM Nagpur  University, Nagpur.

He is FDPPI certified  Data Privacy Consultant.

He is guest faculty for Cyber Laws and Cyber Security for various educational as well as government training organizations. His views on Cyber laws and Cyber Security are regularly published in various newspapers.

He practices in CYBER LITIGATION/Data Protection as specialized domain and has represented clients before various Adjudicating Officers including Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Assam, Telangana etc. He practices before various district Courts as well High Courts.
